Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Can you only hold a wear it pink day on 29 October?

We want to make Friday 29 October the biggest, brightest, pinkest day ever. But if it's not convenient for you or your team, feel free to choose another day in October. Schools generally hold their wear it pink day on a date that fits into their calendar during October.

  2. I can't hold my own wear it pink day. Can I just make a donation?

Yes, of course. Donate online or call 0800 107 3104.

  3. I have lost my paying-in slip. Can I get another one?

Yes, either order your slip online or call 0800 107 3104 and we will send you a replacement.

  4. Can I pay in my money at any bank?

Yes, all banks will accept the paying-in slip sent to you. Please, use only this Breast Cancer Campaign paying-in slip NOT the bank's own paying-in slip as we will be unable to acknowledge safe receipt of your funds or send you a thank you certificate for your efforts.

If it's more convenient you can donate online or by calling 0800 107 3104.

  5. Will I receive an acknowledgement when I've paid in my donation?

Yes, once received, we will send a thank you letter and certificate to everyone who takes part and donates. Please allow a month for this to arrive. If you are paying your money in at a bank, please make sure you send Breast Cancer Campaign your receipt in the freepost envelope provided.

  6. Will I get a certificate that I can put up at work or school?

Yes, we will send you a wear it pink certificate to thank you for being part of the cure. Please allow a month after we receive your donation, to receive your certificate.

  7. What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid is a brilliant way of increasing the value of your donation at no cost to yourself. Anyone who's a UK income tax payer can reclaim the basic rate of tax on their donation, which means that for every £1 donated, the charity could receive an extra 28p from HM Revenue & Customs.

This may seem a small amount, but if all our supporters had signed up to Gift Aid last year we would have raised an extra £900,000! So please remember to encourage all your wear it pinkers to tick the Gift Aid column on your Pink Magic Gift Aid form and provide their full name, house number and postcode (home address only please).

If you don't have a Gift Aid form you can order one online or call 0800 107 3104.

  8. What is matched funding?

Many companies will support their employee's charity of choice by offering to match funds raised. Please ask your employer as it's a fantastic way to boost your fundraising efforts and helps Breast Cancer Campaign fund even more research.

  9. How can I find out how much money was raised by wear it pink 2010?

We will keep track of the income raised on Breast Cancer Campaign's Facebook page and on this website.

  10. Where do wear it pink donations go?

Breast Cancer Campaign uses all wear it pink donations to fund innovative, world-class research throughout the UK and Ireland to understand how breast cancer develops, leading to improved diagnosis, treatment, prevention and cure. Find out more
